How-to: Adjust the announcement bar placement (OS 2.0)

By default, the announcement bar should display above your header. If you have any issues, or want to move it follow the steps below (NB: Requires Online Store 2.0 theme):

Steps to adjust the placement of your announcement bar:

1. Accessing the Setup Guide:

   Start by opening the Disco app Dashboard. Locate and expand the Setup guide step titled "Change placement of countdown timer and announcement bar."

   

2. Initiating the Placement Process:

   Click on the "Place announcement bar" button. This action will launch your theme editor and automatically integrate the Disco announcement bar into your layout.

   

3. Customizing the Position:

   Within the theme editor, you'll find the announcement bar in the Apps section. Here, you can easily drag and drop the bar to your desired position on the page.

   

4. Adjusting for Full-Width Display:

   If your preference is to have the announcement bar span the full width of the page, click on the Apps section. Here, uncheck the option labeled Make section margins same as theme to enable a full-width display.

   

5. Saving Your Changes:

   Once you're satisfied with the positioning and settings, click on the "Save" button to apply your modifications.

Additional Tips:

• Preview Your Changes: Before finalizing, use the theme editor's preview feature to see how the announcement bar will appear on your live site.
• Check on Different Devices: Ensure that the announcement bar looks good on both desktop and mobile devices for a consistent user experience.
• Test Functionality: After saving your changes, visit your live site to confirm that the announcement bar functions as expected.
